Writing Hiatus

As the new school year dawned and my new business took off, I find that I have very little time left in my day to do anything but write curriculum, wash clothes and prepare for the next day.

My blog began as a journey into my writing, and it appears as if I am at the proverbial fork in the road.

My free time is extremely limited and as much as  I love blogging, I need to focus on my current WIP.  I figure I have about two months of solid editing to get me where I need to be.  I also have two other manuscripts undergoing pretty serious edits.  In addition, I would like to participate in NaNoWriMo for my fifth time and write the next YA that’s been stewing around in my head.

This is a tall order for such a small amount of free time.

It’s also one I can’t fulfill if I continue blogging like I want to.

And so, I’ll go on a writing retreat for the next few months.  I’ll focus on polishing what I have completed and completing what I’ m dreaming about.  I know I’ll lose contact with some of you and that will make me sad.  However, it’s not fair to keep my blog kinda-sort-going when I know I can’t keep it up until I reach the meadow at the end of the path.

I guess in a way, my whimsical walk has led me to this point.  A place where I must let some things go and concentrate on others.  From now until the end of the year, my journey will be a work in progress.  I will be going back to my roots and moderating a group on the new Agent Query site.

If you would like to join me over there, I’d be delighted to see your smiling faces at Juvenile Junction–the forum I moderate–or at Query Corner where I’ve been known to give feedback on queries a time or two hundred over the last year.

Otherwise, I’ll wish you well in your writing endeavors, check your blogs when I get a chance and keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Best luck in all you do and I hope to kick off the new year with renewed vigor at my blog.  I’ve asked Santa for more time in the day.  I figure if I stay on the good list, I just might get it.
