Chapter Books

Between 6 and 8, youngsters hit a transitional period with their reading. They are getting too old for a constant diet of listening to picture books by well-meaning caregivers, and even the leveled reading books they read to themselves are a bit–babyish. Yet the thought of reading a full on novel can be terrifying to some.

Chapter books help ease the anxiety of reading. They allow kids to read shorter and less complex sentences while still experiencing a robust, yet uncomplicated tale.

My chapter books projects are quirky adventures with characters never before seen on the page. Because I guess I’m a bit like this myself.
